BOFURI is based on a light novel series by Yuumikan. The first season of the anime came out in January 2020, and was streamed simultaneously by Funimation. The second season began airing in January 2023, and has been streaming via Crunchyroll, complete with an English dub. BOFURI is a comedy anime about a VRMMORPG player who puts all of her stats into defense, and becomes one of the top players in the game without having any speed or magic.
It is not the only anime this season being affected by the pandemic. Uncle from Another World, Ayakashi Triangle, Nier: Automata Ver1.1a, and Kubo Won't Let Me Be Invisible are also all suffering from delays due to COVID-19.
